Getting to Know Derek

Our company always enjoys learning about the artists we work with
and when we asked Derek to share with us what were some of his most
memorable performances, the candid and meaningful response he
offered can only be expressed by Derek's own words: "   I wouldn't
change a word that shows the character and dedication of this
priceless performer.,,,,,,
,,,,, Jay Jaworski,  CWM

"Here are some of my most memorable gigs: Just off of the top of my head.
I recall being asked to perform at the ITALIAN FESTIVAL in Keystone
Colorado. This was the first gig I payed with more than 2000 watts of
power to more than 1000 people.  I recall playing at my first 90th birthday
party to a gentleman referred to by his friends and family as simply,
papa........ he told me I sounded better than Frank.

Of course events at nursing and retirement homes are always a kick, that's
where I get most of my knowledge of the real Frank from fans who've
actually met ol' blue eyes.  I do recall an event at an Alzheimer's life and help
hospice, some of them believed I was actually Frank Sinatra in the flesh.
Over the last year or so, I've had the opportunity to play with a band built
around me.

We've grown to 12 pieces but don't always get to play with all of them. I
don't remember who's 50th anniversary I played but it was the first time
someone cried when I sang... I hope they were tears of joy. I guess I
remember two types of events more than any other...of course, the great big
ones to thousands of people are tremendous moments, easy to take mental
snap-shots. And the very intimate moments when couples dance and babies
fall asleep amidst all of the "noise".  The moments when the sky opens up
and pours cool water all over the crowd, and not a soul leaves their seat,
and the dancers seem all but unaware until the final note.

I must've performed about 1000 times, and find something to take with me
and leave at each memory"
