| MEET THE MCDOUGALS: In Greg Mcdougal's Own Words: Hello, my name is Greg McDougal. These days I enjoy introducing myself as a “recovering musician”. There was a time however, when I was writing songs for EMI Nashville and pursuing a record deal (I was working with Henry Paul of BLACKHAWK as my producer and with Tim DuBois of Arista records.) I even had a song recorded by Atlantic Recording artist John Michael Montgomery. I soon discovered though, that God had a different plan than the one I had so carefully laid out. It was about this time that our first son was born with a hole in his intestinal tract which required surgery. He was subsequently diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis, a genetic disorder which affects the mucus membranes in the body, primarily the lungs, liver, intestinal tract and pancreas. Looking back, I can see that in times like these God does His greatest work. Priorities change and life takes on a whole new meaning! Without going into details, I know that God, by His grace, mercy and infinite wisdom, caused me to walk away from what seemed like certain success in the music business. Since then I have been working as a self-employed home repair contractor and I marvel at God’s perfect orchestration in our lives. We now have four beautiful children, three of which have been diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis and each one of them is God’s gift of miracles to us. The motivation for this letter is my children. Due to recent complications with our oldest son’s health, I need to provide them an allergen free house. During the past seven years of raising these children, my wife and I have become somewhat the experts in respiratory health. We’ve learned the hazards of allergens, such as mold and bacteria, in carpet, improper duct work and ventilation. All of this leaves me with some special needs for my kids that I could financially manage in three or four years, but that could prove to be a detriment in our situation. |

| A Final Note From Greg McDougal Thank you so much for visiting. We are the McDougals, and by being here you are an important part of a very special cause. You see, three of my four children have been diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis and because of my oldest son’s current struggle with a mold called Aspergillus, it is now imperative to get my children into a house that is not as prone to mold, dust and other such allergens. I could get this done in three or four years, but that could prove to be a detriment to my children’s health. And so it is simple--I need to raise the funds to make this house possible. If I had the talent to sew, I would sell garments. If I had the talent to paint beautiful pictures, I would sell them. But the Lord gave me the talent of music and so He has helped me put together this collection of twelve songs, ten of which I co-wrote. I am praying that I will find favor with all of you to purchase this CD and make it possible for me to provide what’s needed for my family. I pray that you will be blessed by the music that God has given me. And then PLEASE tell everyone you know about us and about ahouseformykids.com. P.S. We are donating a part of the proceeds to the Nashville chapter of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation for research and in the near future we hope to set up a non profit agency ourselves, designed to directly help other CF families improve their home environments. |
