Michael at Legendary Devonshire Studios

Michael Mancini  is a Producer and
Recording Engineer with over 25 years of experience. He has
earned over 20 Platinum and Gold record awards and a
Scotty award. In Audio Post Michael has earned over 4
Golden Reel Awards. His list of credits includes some of the
biggest recording artists in music history including Billy Joel,
Lionel Ritchie, Kenny Rogers, Weather Report, The Isley
Brothers, Cameo, Smokey Robinson, Whitney Houston,
Toto, Hall and Oates, Van Halen, Ozzy Osborne, Jaco
Pastorious, Marvin Gaye, George Benson, Art Garfunkel,
Loggins & Messina, David Foster, Tom Petty, Dolly Parton,
and many others.

Michael got his first glimpse of the music business at age 10.
He would tag along with his father David K. Mancini who was
designing and supervising the construction of many of the top
recording studios in Los Angeles and San Francisco. In 1966
his parents opened the famed Devonshire Sound Studios and
he began mopping floors and getting sandwiches. After a few
years he was a second engineer and working under such
famous engineers as Ron Malo, Greg Venable, John Fiore,
Chris Hinshaw and Alex Kasanegras. By the time he was 14
years old Michael was in the studio day and night recording,
producing and engineering his own projects playing all the
instruments and writing the songs.

At 17 Michael left Devonshire and was hired at Westlake
Audio to be the Assistant Engineer on the Brothers Johnson's
first album. After a year he left for Sunset Sound Studios that
employed the who's who of the business. He was hired at
Sunset by recording patriarch Bill Robinson and worked with
many of the top Engineers there including George
Massenburg, Humberto Gatica, Don Landee, Mick Gazowski
and Val Garay. Humberto Gatica gave Michael his first
Engineering work and his first project which he took back to
Devonshire and started his career as a Free Lance Recording
Engineer. That project was K.C. and Teri Desario, the song
"Yes I'm Ready" by K.C. and Teri Desario. From that point
on he began working with many of the top artists of the day.
The studio grew under his supervision from a simple one-room
facility to 4 studios.

In 1990 Mr. Mancini was one of the first to use Samplers and
MIDI equipment to do Audio Post Production for TV and
Movies. He began working with Pro Tools the day it came out
and was definitely riding the technological wave to its fullest.
He has recorded the soundtrack or supervised the sound on
over 300 TV shows and specials including many top feature
films.
