25th Annual Festival Miami October 22nd 2008
The Festival Miami celebrates four musically themed weeks throughout the month of October. Week 3 beginning
October 21, 2008 is devoted to Creative American Music, anchored by Frost Alumnus Bruce Hornsby and Steve
Muller, Jon Secada, Ricky Skaggs, Pati Austin, Dave Koz, Monica Mancini and Tom Scott. Nicole will perform
“Take a Walk with Me” as a songwriter finalist on Wednesday October 22, 2008 8pm at the Gusman Center.
Miami Science Museum October 22-25 2008
Partners with BMI for ‘Music Música’ Showcase
BMI and the Miami Science Museum (www.miamisci.org) will present three musical events surrounding the opening
of the museum’s newest exhibition, Music Música, October 22-25. Music Musica is a combination of two exhibits –
"American Sabor: Latinos in U.S. Popular Music" and "Music: Access All Areas" – that showcase music from
cultural and scientific perspectives. As part of the exhibits, BMI has produced three unique concert events
showcasing some of their diverse, Miami-based songwriters including Albita, Pitbull, Alih Jey, Javier Garcia, Nestor
Torres, and Ed Calle. Nicole Patrick will open the Family Street Party at their Grand Opening of the exhibit on
Saturday October 25th, 2008 12pm.
